Microneedling with
Skin Boosters

Skin boosters are Cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which is a substance that occurs naturally in the skin. This retains moisture, though our body’s own HA is depleted due to many factors including age, sun damage, genetics, smoking and environmental factors. All of which is what causes skin to become dry looking and dehydrated.
Treatment Time - 1 hour
Treatment Cost - Microneedled into the face, neck & Décolletage £150

Recommended 2-3 treatments, 3-4 weeks apart for optimal results, dependent on the individual.
What is Microneedling?

-
Microneedling is a cosmetic treatment using an electronic needling device to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin.
-
Hundreds of “micro” skin punctures are given per second with sterilised needles to stimulate the skin’s natural wound healing process, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling.
-
This prompts tissue repair without causing scar tissue formation.
-
New collagen production is encouraged which smooths the skin & firms.
-
Microneedling is mostly used on the face & can also help reduce the appearance of acne, scars, dark spots, and large pores.

Skin Boosters
Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a soft like gel substance can be used to microneedle into the face to further improve the skins texture, elasticity, and firmness. Skin boosters are more hydrating to the skin, as the HA molecules will draw in water and moisture from the body to hydrate the area of skin that has been treated. Therefore, staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water is advised after this treatment.
Safety:
-
Numbing cream can be applied if required.
-
Microneedling is minimally invasive with little to no downtime.
-
It’s considered safe for most people who are in overall good health.
-
The procedure may not be safe for people who use certain acne medications, for those with active acne, or moderate to severe psoriasis or eczema.
-
You can experience minor redness and irritation for a couple of days after the procedure.
Benefits of microneedling:
-
Helps reduce the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles
-
Reduces appearance of scars & acne scaring
-
Helps minimise enlarged pores
-
Reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation, dark spots & stretch marks
-
Helps with uneven skin tone
-
Improves elasticity of skin
Plasma Rich Protein
(PRP) Facial

Also known as the ‘Vampire facial’, this is becoming one of the most popular skin-care treatments around for men and women.

-
The Serum portion can be injected into the dermis layer of the skin or with microneedling to help repair, rejuvenate and hydrate the skin
-
Virtually pain free with very little down time
-
Procedure carried out by a fully trained registered nurse

For Best Results – PRP Facials requires three treatments 4–6 weeks apart for optimum results. Maintenance treatments are required every 4–6 months as desired

Treatment Time – Approximately 1 hour
Treatment Cost - £125 for 1 treatment, or £320 for 3 treatments, when paid in advance
PRP is deemed safe for most people. It is a cosmetic procedure which involves drawing your blood from a vein in the arm which is then spun in a special machine called a centrifuge. This separates the blood into three distinct layers: plasma on top, platelets, blood cells in the middle, and red blood cells at the bottom. PRP is derived from the centre part, ‘the serum portion’ and is injected directly into your skin like fillers, or micro needled to stimulate collagen production.
If you choose to have a platelet-rich plasma facial, precautions can be taken to protect yourself by going to a registered medical provider, RN, or plastic surgeon. Properly trained medical professionals are the only ones that qualify to perform the procedure legally and safely.
-
Platelets used contain pockets called alpha granules, which secrete high levels of growth factors, accelerating wound healing and helps the face absorb proteins
-
Virtually painless and is considered safer than injectables, as you are using your own cells which have rejuvenating properties
-
Improves skin elasticity, volume, and texture
-
Benefits those with premature wrinkles and high levels of sun damage
PRP has also shown to be an effective procedure for those with alopecia. PRP is injected into fine delicate areas on the scalp to help nourish the hair follicle, strengthen the hair root, and increase the density and growth of hair. It will also encourage dormant follicles to wake up and sprout new hair.
Contra-indications to PRP Facial include
-
A history of blood diseases, clotting or bleeding disorders.
-
Any type of blood cancer.
-
Skin cancer in the area to be treated.
-

Dermaplaning Facial

Dermaplaning is an exfoliation treatment which women love this as it is effective in removing the uppermost layer of the stratus corneam as well as removing the vellus hair, ‘peach fuzz’ which creates a smooth canvas for makeup to be applied more evenly and home beauty products to be absorbed better, thus penetrating deeper into the skin.

Dermaplaning Facial with Hydrating mask

Skin is more permeable to skincare products immediately after treatment as the facial hairs that trap debris have been removed. By applying a hydrating mask immediately after a dermaplane treatment will allow the nutrients to penetrate the skin cells deeper, leaving the skin with a healthier glow and incredibly smooth and polished effect.

All the above steps with the addition of a hydrating mask before the moisturiser is applied.

If you would like a face mask added on as part of your treatment, you may choose from the hydrating sheet mask or one of the clay face masks listed at the top of page

Treatment Time - 45 minutes – 1 Hour
Treatment Cost - £65
Cost of 3 treatments 3-4 weeks apart, paid for in advance - £180

Benefits of Dermaplaning

-
Dermaplaning is a non-invasive skincare treatment and a great alternative to chemical exfoliation
-
Safe in pregnancy or if allergic to certain acids or for those with very sensitive skin.
-
Helps in removing millia; carotin protein which becomes stuck under dead skin cells and appears as little hard bumps on the skin
-
Dermaplaning also helps with fine lines and wrinkles as it decongests the skin surface and removes the upper layer of the dermis so you can see it lift the pigment
-
Each time you exfoliate the upper layers of the epidermis, it stimulates the basal layer, which is where skin cell renewal begins, hence smoother, brighter skin
-
Those with quite noticeable facial hair love dermaplaning as this can feel quite coarse and irritable and fine hairs can become matted down with different products put on the skin
-
The results after a dermaplaning facial are noticed straight away and give a glowing effect
-
Removes 3-4 weeks’ worth of dead skin cells, so ideally needs treatment 4-6 weekly

Dermaplaning not advised if;
-
Active acne as bacteria can spread, causing infection
-
Not suitable if raised spots, moles, or skin tags
-
Chronic inflammation of skin conditions, such as eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea.
-
Not to be carried out after a chemical peel
-
Avoid if skin condition is compromised, open cuts, sunburn, or sensitive skin.
-
Dermaplaning can be performed before a chemical peel to effectively remove dead skin cells and fine hair from the skins surface, but not after
-
You should avoid strong chemicals and direct sunlight to the skin on the of day of treatment to reduce sensitivity
-
Do not exfoliate, use scrubs or peels for 24 hours after dermaplaning

Dermaplaning with oil if;
-
Sensitive skin, reactive, easily irritated, dry, dehydrated, mature skin or sun damaged
-
Oil helps to protect the acid mantle which is essential for a healthy skin barrier
-
Can help improve pigmentation and acne, as feels light on the skin, absorbs quickly, and does not clog pores
